The relevant Claim Forms must be correctly completed, signed and submitted to Different Life via email or in person. We will also need the original or certified copies, signed by a commissioner of oaths, of the following: 

Proof of journey-related accident and link to claim event:

  • The insured’s ID document
  • Police Statement and accident report
  • Case number
  • Police station details at which the accident was reported
  • Details of the investigating officer

For an accidental death claim:

  • The death certificate; 
  • Notification of death form (DHA 1663) by the doctor who certified the insured’s death;
  • Post mortem;

For an accidental temporary disability claim:

  • certified copy of the sworn statement of the Assured Life (disablement/hospitalisation) and
  • a certified copy of a J88 document and/or
  • a certified copy of a Medical Practitioner’s report and/or
  • a hospitalisation report clearly indicating the disablement of the Assured Life as a result of the Accident

For a daily hospital benefit claim:

  • The insured’s ID document
  • a certified copy of a J88 document and/or
  • a hospitalisation report clearly indicating the reason for hospitalisation of the Assured Life as a result of the Accident 

In addition to the above, any such other documentary proof as may be reasonably required by the Insurer to assess any claim that is submitted under this policy.

To effect payment on the claim (if the claim is assessed as valid) we will need the original or certified copies, signed by a commissioner of oaths, of the following: 

  • Bank statement of yourself or your beneficiaries stamped by the bank; 
  • ID documents of beneficiaries. 

When can I claim?

Voooma Journey Cover will pay out if you die, are hospitalised or are disabled as a result of a journey-related accident as a non-professional driver or passenger.

When can I not claim?

Any cause other than a journey-related accident as defined herein including suicide, attempted suicide and post traumatic stress disorder. If you are a professional long-distance driver and the driver on the insured journey, you cannot claim. A professional long-distance driver means a driver whose normal occupation includes driving or operating a vehicle.
